Recording Studio Rockstars – Episode #224 – Jesse & Jonah Marks

Authentic Sound Recordings from Around the World

Jesse and Jonah Marks are the founders and curators of The Touch of Sound, a recording adventure and website dedicated to authentically capturing the sounds of the world. All sounds on their site are 100% authentic and captured by real people from real places. Their found sounds have been collected while traveling, along with a growing network of worldwide content contributors.

Anything from fish markets in Japan and Turkey to Sea Lions in the Galapagos Islands to the street musicians of Cuba will make it onto their website.

Take a listen to some of their sounds from recent travels to Panama, Vietnam, and Cuba.

About the Marks Brothers

Jesse is an audio engineer who began recording location sounds for potential use in his professional and personal projects. Jonah is an avid traveler whose passion for exploration has taken them around the globe. Whenever possible, they travel together at a furious pace, but their obsession with collecting sounds helps to slow them down to appreciate the moments. Over the past 12 years, the two brothers have traveled the world with a microphone and a mission: to collect authentic and high-quality audio recordings.
