Today, we’re pleased to announce a new line of models that fully comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Our engineering and design team carefully, and thoughtfully designed this new enclosure, making it possible for all people to have access to the best in the industry.
Passed by the United States Congress in 1990, the ADA requires employers to provide reasonable accommodations — changes to the workplace or job — to allow employees with disabilities to do their jobs. Among other things, the ADA also ensures access to the built environment for people with disabilities. The ADA Standards establish design requirements for the construction and alteration of facilities subject to the law. These enforceable standards apply to places of public accommodation, and commercial, state, and local government facilities.
Available in seven sizes, our new ADA compliant WhisperRooms each has at least 5 feet of interior space for wheelchair maneuverability. Also, our ADA Package features a 32” wide door opening, a 1:12 ratio ramp, a door handle operable with a closed fist, a raised floor, and our new “no threshold” door design. Using WhisperRoom’s patented technology, these ADA compliant booths are portable and constructed with the same materials and craftsmanship as other WhisperRoom products.
The best part about our new ADA compliant enclosures it that you can expect the same quality as with any of our products. All of our enclosures significantly reduce outside noise and come equipped with Auralex acoustic foam (2” thick), a door window, and fluorescent lighting. All ADA compliant sizes will be available in both our single-wall (Standard) and double-wall (Enhanced) versions and will provide comparable noise reduction.
They can be purchased with or without a ventilation system, and our ADA booths also can include any of our other popular options such as Wall Windows, Audio Jack or XLR panels, Acoustic Tuning Package, or Studio Lights.

Acoustic Tuning Package (ATP)
The new ATP provides a very flexible and cost-effective solution to easily create the interior acoustical environment desired by each WhisperRoom user. The primary purpose of the ATP is to alleviate the problem of parallel walls, which creates an acoustical issue commonly known as Standing Waves.
The ATP consist of a series of angled deflector panels attached to the interior surface of two perpendicular walls within the WhisperRoom. Acoustical foam sheets (1’ x 2’) can be attached to several deflector panels to control mid to high frequencies. Lenrd Bass Traps (3), located in the common corner, control low frequencies. Open voids created behind each angled deflector panel, provide for soundwave entrapment. Other acoustical materials, such as cloth wrapped fiberglass, can be attached to the surface of deflector panels. Direction and pattern of deflector panels can, easily and quickly, be adjusted to accommodate user needs.

WhisperRoom, Inc. continues to establish itself as the elite provider of sound isolation enclosures. Six new models have recently been debuted, bringing our total to 26. The following models are now available in both standard and enhanced versions: MDL 4896 (4’X8’), MDL 9696 (8′ x 8′), MDL 96120 (8′ x 10′), MDL 96144 (8′ x 12′), MDL 96168 (8′ x 14′) and MDL 96192 (8′ x 16′).
We’ve also introduced two exciting, new optional features:
Elevated Floor Package
The Elevated Floor Package raises the interior floor surface of any WhisperRoom where it becomes level with the threshold of the door. This is a safety feature that significantly limits the risk of tripping on the door threshold when entering or exiting the WhisperRoom. This feature also provides even easier wheelchair access. Each EFP consists of a series of carpeted floor tiles, each of which is 4 inches thick—increasing the quality of sound isolation in the downward direction. Installation can occur at any time and does not require any tools. The EFP can be ordered with any WhisperRoom.
Acoustic Tuning Package
The Acoustic Tuning Package (ATP) allows customers to create the preferred acoustic sound environment with relative ease. An ATP consists of angled deflector panels that are attached to perpendicular walls inside a WhisperRoom sound booth. These panels include acoustical foam sheets which control mid to high frequencies; LENRD Bass Traps which control low frequencies; and the open voids created behind the panels provide excellent sound wave entrapment. You can change the direction and pattern of the deflector panels easily to suit your specific acoustical needs. The ATP can be ordered with any new WhisperRoom and will work with most existing models (except the LP127).
